Overview

PetKonek (PawID) gives every pet a permanent digital identity. Owners register their pets and print a QR collar tag. Anyone who finds a lost pet can scan it with any phone camera, no app needed, to see the pet's profile, report where they saw it, or chat with the owner in real time. Key features Lost-pet recovery: Lost Mode, printable posters, and a live sightings map (Leaflet + OpenStreetMap) that pins finder reports as they arrive, with a movement trail, GPS accuracy circles, and place search for typed addresses. Live owner–finder chat over Server-Sent Events, with anonymous finders identified by private thread tokens. Health vault: vaccinations, medications, vet visits, weight tracking and reminders, plus a dashboard with care-score, status and activity charts built without a chart library. Sharing: co-owner and caregiver access with per-pet permissions and email invitations. Community: a lost/reunited feed, birthday and memorial well-wishes, and a "Wake Room" for pets that have passed. AI pet assistant (Google Gemini) that answers from the user's own records, with prompt-injection safeguards and an offline fallback. Superadmin console: analytics, a members map with clustered location bubbles, live sitewide announcements, a feedback inbox with homepage testimonials, and donations and sponsors with amount-prefilled QR Ph payment codes. Engineering highlights: session-based auth with email verification and bcrypt, server-side privacy filtering of public pet data, per-record authorization, rate limiting, CSP and security headers, and magic-byte image validation. It also handles Philippine phone-number formats and Manila-time date handling. Deployed with Docker on Render, with a Supabase PostgreSQL database locked down with row-level security.
